Q. Where do you meet?

A. CBC meets at the Frank DeLuca YMCA Family Center, located at 3200 S.E. 17th Street, Ocala, FL 34471. Click here for a map

Q. Why do you meet there? Don’t you have your own building?

A. At CBC we recognize the blessing of this open door we have at the Y and don’t sense we have to have a building in order to  have a church. We have a very conservative view of debt and realize at some point we will probably have our own building but, until God opens that door, we will continue to meet at the Y. As you probably already know, the term “church” in the Bible doesn’t speak about a building but a group of people. At this point, we recognize our calling is to be an obedient “church” without a building than a church building without obedient people.

Q. Where are the CBC offices?

A. Our office space is located in The LIFE Center (4620 E. Silver Springs Blvd Suite 420).

Q. What time are the services?

A. Sunday School starts for all ages at 9:00 am. For information about our adult bible fellowships, click here. For information about our children’s Sunday School, click here.

Worship service is at 10:00 am. Our worship service is a time when the entire church can worship God together through song, verse by verse preaching, and observing the ordinances of the Bible (Lord’s Supper and Baptism).

Q. Is there child care?

A. CBC provides excellent and loving care for children under the age of 5 during both the Sunday School hour and the Worship service. Please feel free to keep your children with you if you prefer. There are “fun” bags available for visiting children to enjoy during the worship service.

Q. What should I wear?

A. Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in. At CBC, you’ll find some in suits and ties, while others are in shorts. Although it is fair to warn you that the room we meet in can sometimes be a little on the cold side.

Q. Will I be expected to say something or be recognized?

A. No. While we do ask our first time visitors to fill out a visitor’s card and drop it in the offering box, we will not ask you to stand up or to say anything.

Q. If I join Community Bible Church do I need to be re-baptized?

A. CBC accepts all biblical baptisms. Biblical baptisms contain 3 elements:

  1. A baptism that took place following the individual’s conversion
  2. A baptism symbolizing the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ
  3. A baptism by water immersion

Q. What is involved for a commitment to church membership at CBC?

A. Church membership is a covenant relationship between the church and the individual. The church understands that it will seek to help the individual become a fully-developing follower of Jesus Christ. The individual understands the church’s purpose and is willing to make four commitments:

  1. To fellowship with other members of the church through CBC’s small group ministry or Sunday Community hour.
  2. To financially support the church in a God-honoring manner.
  3. To find a place of service in the church’s fellowship, using one’s talents, gifts, and abilities.
  4. To seek to witness to and invite others to church.
